Although its chorus features the ominous lyric ‘I feel you’re watching over me / I feel someone’s chasing after me’, Shy Luv’s ‘Bloodsucker’ isn’t simply a Halloween-inspired single. Wonky synths bend around warped vocals amidst a heady mix of 80s disco beats and spacey sound effects. It's trippy, it's psychedelic, and it's not quite like anything else out there. One thing’s for sure though, ‘Bloodsucker’ leaves us in no doubt that the Manchester duo are capable of producing some wonderfully weird music. And now they have a label partner in Black Butter for their debut album which is due out next year, Shy Luv look set to take the world by storm with their infectious synth-pop.
